Okay, this is something uniquely me that I thought I had to get out. I cant call work, work. Yes, you read it right. I just cant. When I try to trace back and find the root of this problem, I flashback to Year 1. Our group was smaller then but we used to hang out a lot. This one guy, however, a good friend of mine, excused himself often almost always because he had “work to do”. Now, naive that I was then, I couldn’t understand how he had work to do when I didn’t. Was he trying to prove that I was a hopeless noob while he was being an officer sir. Why couldn’t he just tell me what he was so busy doing?

Well, with a little help from evolution through an injection of common sense, I have come to realize that explaining the nature of work to someone can get complicated sometimes and the widely accepted protocol is to just say “I have work to do”. But the problem is that I have grown so used to hating the phrase that I find it really hard to use it these days even when I actually have something to do. Fail, I know. Need to change
